Google Message Continuity is a solution for organisations running legacy email systems that ensures you never lose access to your email and messaging capabilities. Incoming emails are filtered in the cloud for spam and viruses by Postini’s vast data centres and then forwarded to both your Microsoft Exchange server and corresponding backup Gmail account. Under normal usage, users will send and receive emails as usual from their Exchange email account, however when this is unavailable, they can simply log into their Gmail account with the same user name, and continue regular up-to-date communications. With this synchronisation between your on premise email solution and Gmail account, users can access their email, calendar and contacts no matter what happens to your on premise email server.
